Covid-19 Service Update

Keeping our staff and our customers safe...

Pawlkies are 'Covid Secure'

What we have been doing...

Over the past few months, as all of our customers are aware, Pawlkies implemented early safety measures to ensure we could continue to deliver safe pet care services to our clients during the course of this pandemic.

Following the government announcement of the lockdown on March 23rd 2020, we restricted our operations to mainly supporting our vulnerable, shielded and key worker customers, which has been of great success and has enabled you to continue providing your incredible support to the community in your key worker roles, or to stay safe in your homes whilst we continue to look after your loved ones. We want to say a massive thank you to you all for continuing to put your trust in us during these difficult times and we will continue to do our absolute best to support you regardless of our uncertain landscape ahead.

With certain sectors of U.K. business returning to work as of 13th May 2020, we want to make you all aware, that Pawlkies are here to support you as we all begin to transition to the next stage in the pandemic.

We are now resuming ALL our normal operations of which, we are very pleased to announce, will now be available to those who need to return to work and will require help with pet care.

In preparation for doing so, and in line with the revised Government advice published on 11th May 2020 on Coronavirus, to balance public health protection requirements and the need for businesses to keep working, we have updated all of our procedures on how we will continue to keep our staff and our customers safe whilst delivering our first class care to you all.

If you haven’t already, please let us know if you are returning to work and need us to change your current level of care. If you are a new customer looking for care, please do give us a call to discuss on 07903 681978 or use our contact form HERE to make an enquiry, we will endeavour to get back to you within 24 hours. We would love to help you in your return to ‘some sort of normality’ 🙂

In light of revised Government advice published on 11th May 2020 on Coronavirus to balance public health protection requirements and the need for businesses to keep working, there remains no evidence that pets are implicated in the transmission of Coronavirus to people and infection of the pet is unlikely, but that there is some risk of virus being carried by pets and their belongings. However the risk of transmission between infected clients and business staff remains, therefore, we will continue to apply the safety measures we implemented back in February this year whilst regularly updating and adjusting them in line  with the government advice.

Please read the following procedures we have implemented to enable safe delivery of ALL or our operations:

  • Before accessing and after leaving your house we will always apply hand sanitiser

  • We will advise you when we are 5 mins away to ask your to prepare your dog(s) for collection

  • We will collect your dog from this room using our own lead.

  • Before we access your house and after leaving your house we apply hand sanitiser

  • We will use pet safe wipes to remove any potential germs from the dogs coats before they enter the vehicle.

  • We will ensure dogs are not sharing crates during transport.

  • Upon returning your dog, we will place them back in the same room accessible from an external door and message you to advised your dog has been returned safely.

  • We advise you use pet safe wipes to remove any potential germs from the dogs before bring them into the rest of the house.

DAY CARE  and HOME BOARDING

Your dogs can continue to be dropped off at our day care, however we now have a secure external undercover reception area (see fig.1) which we ask that you will need to wait in upon arrival. Upon doing so we will:

  • Collect your dog from this areas whilst maintaining a safe distance from you

  • We will use pet safe wipes to remove any potential germs from the dogs coats before they enter the daycare.

  • During collection, we will again give your dog a wipe down before handover in the external reception areas.

  • Customer must retain their own leads when dropping off and bring their leads to attach on collection.

  • Once our dogs have left daycare, we will use soapy water to clean down all the toys and equipment used during the day ready for the following day.

  • When out on walks, we are using our own leads at all times

  • For all customers in the vulnerable/shielding group we are now offering collection for your dogs to attend our daycare. Our Dog walking procedures above will apply

PET SITTING

We are happy to enter your homes to assist with cat feeding and puppy care. When doing so, we will:

  • Always apply hand sanitiser before accessing and after leaving your house

  • Wear gloves and face coverings throughout the duration of our stay.

  • We will ask you to dish up any foods required with cling film or foil covering, so we can simply place the food down for your pets.

  • Any exercise or play where possible will be done outside in your gardens, if weather or location doesn’t permit, we will discuss with you alternative options.

  • Upon leaving we will use pet safe wipes to remove any potential germs from your pets coats
